Are you a business person or an artist?

Are you a business person or an artist?

The most successful business owner is both! How so?

Business owners are like artists. They put in the effort to look for fresh and innovative ideas that make a difference in people’s lives. They can turn a blank canvas and make something beautiful out of it using the available time and tools.

Still, even when you have the right resources at your disposal, it’s impossible to craft a great product or service if you lack one crucial element: the desire to express yourself.

In my experience helping businesses establish cost-saving processes, I’ve engaged with entrepreneurs who have a genuine passion for what they do.

During our conversations, I noticed that they never shy away from getting their thoughts out in the open. They want to express their desires and goals. This is good as it allows them to overcome creative blocks and start on a significant project.

If there’s anything you will need to learn from these entrepreneurs, you need to articulate what you want with complete clarity.

Here are some quick tips to follow that will help:

1. Listen to yourself

Most often, we tend to spend more time listening to other people’s judgment than discerning what we want. The downside to this is that you are more likely to sway towards other people’s opinions and set aside your own. It matters to know that you have enough space to express your inner thoughts. In addition to having conversations with others, start having a conversation with yourself. Know what you want and spend time nurturing valuable ideas that are brewing in your head.

2. Be analytical and observant

Sometimes, you need to detach yourself from a situation to get a good view of the big picture. Analyzing a problem or an issue involves:

Being alone with your thoughts,

Making connections,

Seeing how these connections play out in the real world.

You wouldn’t want to suggest something that won’t add value, so consider looking at things from a different perspective.

3. Be prepared to express your viewpoint

When the time comes when you need to express something, will you be ready for it? Whether it’s a meeting with a business partner or a negotiation with a vendor, you need to be in a mindset that lets you share your opinions without hesitation. From this, you get to assert your ideas, plans, and valuable insight.

Aside from the ability to express, you also need to maximize the time and resources you have towards growing your business.
