Being Confident Will Get You C-A-S-H
A follow-up in series to last week’s blog, “Are you C-O-N-F-I-D-E-N-T?”
Confidence is a dominant factor when it comes to accomplishing goals and chasing your dreams. Confident business owners don’t just take the stage. They own it, run it, and maintain it.
What this means is that confidence is the seed to the tree of success. It is best when nurtured until it bears fruit. And even if you have less than three employees, you still need such a mindset to cultivate the best possible outcomes.
But as the owner of a small business, how exactly do you become a confident person? Here are a few traits to have if you want your small business to succeed
C – Competent
Confident business leaders exude competency, and they own up to their mistakes.
Being competent gives you a sense of reassurance that you can rely on yourself to get the job done no matter the cost. It shows other people that you are made to be a business leader.
It doesn’t necessarily mean that you are competent to handle everything. It only shows that you can persist and solve even the most challenging problems. Your resolve adds to your charisma and shows people that you are serious about business.
A – Attentiveness
Self-confident does not mean turning a deaf ear to others.
Confident people are willing to listen because they know that everyone has value to contribute. You are always open to all possibilities. And while you are very capable of making decisions on your own, people in your small business deserve to be heard.
LISTEN to others. Don’t let your position get the best of you. Remember: Making your business successful is a team effort. It doesn’t matter if you only have two or three employees on your payroll; each member always has something valuable to share.
Being attentive proves that you are willing to hear out other sides of the story. It also allows you to gather the facts you need to make crucial decisions, especially during a crisis.
S- Self-reliance
Self-reliance projects confidence. After all, you are your best support.
The mark of a mature person is being able to acknowledge one’s strengths. You know you have to improve because you are meant to do greater things. You rely on yourself when there seems to be no one to turn to, and you make the best out of every situation. Your ingenuity makes you an effective decision-maker and problem-solver.
In difficult situations, you rise to suggest a way out and are not afraid to express your ideas. That’s because your wisdom and experience have molded you into the kind of leader you wanted to be.
H – Humility
Confidence does NOT mean being the loudest person in the room.
Assertive business leaders are well-grounded. They maintain a level head because they choose not to use their power and position solely for personal gain. Helping customers and employees achieve their own goals are a priority to them.
That being said, humility greatly shows how confident you are about yourself. You have a good grasp of what you are capable of, and you never fail to empathize with the people who are closest to you as a business leader: your employees and your audience.
Some people think that managing a small business is less demanding compared to handling a full-fledged corporation. On the contrary, you also need to adopt the mindset of a confident leader in order to get things rolling.
The C-A-S-H system makes it easier to make the right decisions and steer your small business around even the most complex challenges.
